While there apparently aren’t any better locked-down matches for WrestleMania 37, it is now said that the WWE Creative Team started working on “bigger” ideas once officials made the decision to. hold the event over two nights.
The belief is now that the company needs four major matches for WrestleMania 37 – two for each night, according to a new report from @Wrestlevotes. This likely requires outside assistance from big names, such as WWE Hall of Fame Bill Goldberg and John Cena.
Goldberg is currently on contract for two matches per year until 2023. His first match of this year will be at the Royal Rumble on January 31 when he challenges WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. John Cena has been out since losing to “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36 last year, focusing on his Hollywood career.
It has also been said that The Rock is not expected to be working at WrestleMania this year. As we noted, WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns pitched the idea of possibly facing The Rock at Hollywood’s WrestleMania 39 in 2023.
Regarding The Undertaker, it has been noted that he is still “to be determined” for The Grandest Stage of Them All but most people behind the scenes think he has indeed finished this time around, especially after his “last. farewell ”to the recent WWE Survivor Series payout. -view. However, WWE CEO Vince McMahon could convince Taker to return, as he has in the past. There hasn’t been any real talk about Brock Lesnar returning to WrestleMania 37, but it has been rumored.
WrestleMania 36 was also held for two nights and featured two specials each night. Night One starred Braun Strowman defeating Goldberg for the WWE Universal Title and The Undertaker defeating AJ Styles in the Boneyard Match cutscene. Night Two saw Cena lose to The Fiend in the Firefly Fun House Match, as well as the return of the WWE Hall of Famer Edge for the victory over Randy Orton in the Last Man Standing match. Night Two also saw Lesnar relinquish the WWE title to McIntyre.
WrestleMania 37 will take place on Saturday April 10 and Sunday April 11 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL.
