Aaron Rodgers may need another Super Bowl ring to solidify his legacy in the NFL, two former football greats said ahead of the NFC Championship on Sunday.
Tony Gonzalez and Michael Vick both agreed on “FOX NFL Kickoff”. Both former players believed Rodgers would need another title to be considered in the top echelon of quarterbacks who played in the NFL and were winners.

“Sadly, I hate to say it, yes he does. There’s no doubt about it. I just think… especially from the experts I’m not saying I agree with but he will ultimately be judged by how many rings he has and that’s one of the reasons I wished Drew Brees would finally get that second because it just puts you in a different stratosphere once you get that second, “Gonzalez said.
“Aaron Rodgers did everything wonderfully. He set the tone for the NFL, this new era by making players with your legs, that precision, all of that good stuff. That would be the difference between Jim Kelly and Joe Montana, n ‘ isn’t it? Super Bowl the same number of times and we got four rings. I think if you say who’s better, you’d say Joe Montana just because of the four rings. “

Vick said he agreed with Gonzalez. He said he was wondering “what if I just have one and what that would do for my career in terms of perception and what people think”.
“When you look at Aaron Rodgers and his career and what he’s been able to accomplish, the way he starts football, all the skills, all the attributes, you look at his resume and you see a Super Bowl and it’s pretty amazing. so I think he needs two just to solidify his legacy and then be mentioned at the top echelon with all the greats that we are always talking about, ”he added.
Rodgers’ CV is better than most, and he’s been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL for quite some time. But he only appeared four times in the NFC Championship, winning only once.
