CDC: Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine may cause allergic reaction in some people

Moderna stock was up 1.6% pre-market on Monday. There were 10 cases of anaphylaxis among the estimated 4 million doses administered between Dec.21 and Jan.10, according to the CDC report. Both vaccines are mRNA-based vaccines, with similar rates of effectiveness in clinical trials. These are the only two COVID-19 vaccines that have been authorized in the United States so far during the pandemic. The CDC has previously recommended that health care providers prepare for the possibility of anaphylaxis in some people who get vaccinated.
