Amazon deal brings Sony WH-100XM4 wireless earbuds to lowest price

Sony's best noise canceling headphones are at their lowest price today

Ars Technica

Today’s Dealmaster is featured by a nice discount on Sony’s WH-1000XM4, as high-end noise-canceling wireless headphones are currently $ 278 at various retailers. That’s over $ 70 off Sony’s MSRP, roughly $ 50 off its usual online selling price, and on par for the biggest discount we’ve followed to date, which we’ve also seen. Black Friday.

At the moment, the WH-1000XM4 is our first choice among noise canceling headphones. There are certainly some better-sounding headphones for the price, but the XM4’s front bass sound is still nice for those who like a boosted low end, and it’s possible to customize the audio profile through the Sony companion app. Either way, the XM4s are very comfortable to wear for hours at a time, offer excellent battery life of around 30 hours, and have several useful features, such as USB-C charging, a ‘talk to chat’ function. which automatically mutes the music when you talk to someone else and a great “ambient sound” mode that matches external noise with your music when you are outside. More than anything else, their noise-canceling quality is excellent, turning off low-frequency rumbles and, to a lesser extent, but still impressive, high-pitched sounds.

A pair like the Bose 700 noise canceling headphones have better call quality, more neutral sound, and the ability to customize noise canceling strength, but overall we think the Sony pair is the better deal, especially at this price. Elsewhere, our deal summary also includes discounts on the M1 Mac Mini and Apple’s Magic Keyboard, a pair of noise-canceling headphones from Anker we love, LG’s latest OLED TVs, and more.
