Mossimo Giannulli loses early release offer

Lori Loughlin’s designer husband is going to have to cool his heels a little more in prison.

A federal judge on Tuesday rejected fashion guru Mossimo Giannulli’s candidacy for house arrest, saying there was no “extraordinary or compelling reason” to do so.

Giannulli – trapped with his wife in the national university admissions scandal – had tried to argue in court documents in mid-January that he had spent so much time in solitary confinement and quarantine amid the COVID-19, it was already as if he had endured all of his punishment.

Giannulli is just over two months after the start of his five-month sentence for trying to rip off the system to get his two daughters to a prestigious university.

The designer and his TV actress wife have been caught up in a scandal that has also caught many other wealthy parents trying to cheat the system for their children with the help of illicit college fixer Rick Singer. Actress Felicity Huffman was among those convicted in the scheme.

Loughlin spent two months behind bars before being fired in December.
