All-Pro quarterback Aaron Rodgers said, “I don’t think there’s a reason I wouldn’t be back” with the Green Bay Packers next season.
But he added that his future was not necessarily in his control.
Rodgers was clarifying the remarks he made on Sunday following the Packers’ NFC 31-26 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Rodgers said after the game “There is a lot of future for the guys who are uncertain, including me.”

“Obviously after the season that I’ve had, potentially MVP and obviously we had another good race, I don’t think there’s a reason why I wouldn’t be back,” said Rodgers. Rodgers was asked on Tuesday if the comment about his uncertain future was an attempt to capitalize on his influence after a season in which he won All-Pro honors. Rodgers threw 48 touchdown passes and five interceptions during the regular season.
“I haven’t even had any conversations yet,” Rodgers said. “It’s day 2. Yesterday was the exit meetings.
