Malcolm and Marie is slated to drop on Netflix in February, and in a recent interview, Zendaya spoke about the age gap with her co-star John David Washington, saying: “I am tall.”
Fresh out of her historic Emmy win for Rue in Euphoria, Zendaya is currently promoting her new Netflix movie, Malcolm and Marie, which also stars John David Washington. Written and directed by Euphoria Creator, Sam levinson, and fully slaughtered during the pandemic, Malcolm and Married, highlights the relationship between a filmmaker and his girlfriend.
While promoting the film, Zendaya recently opened up about the age gap between the two stars, which recently gained media attention.

Zendaya, who is 24, said PEOPLE, “People often forget – which is understandable because I’ve been playing at 16 since I was 16, you know – [but] I’m tall… I knew that as I grew and progressed there would be that moment when I could play someone my age.
Zendaya, of course, was on the disney channel For years Shake it and KC Undercover. She is also currently playing the role of MJ in mainstream Marvel. Spider Man series, where she also plays a high school student.
Washington, 36, also came to talk about the age gap between them. He recently said Variety that he didn’t care, saying, “People are going to see in this movie how much of a woman she is.” She has a lot more experience than me in the industry. I’ve only been in it for seven years. She’s been there longer, so I’m learning from her. I am the recruit.

Malcolm and Marie premieres via a limited release on January 29 and digitally on Netflix February 5.
The film’s official synopsis reads: “As a filmmaker and his girlfriend return home from his film’s premiere, searing tensions and painful revelations push them toward romantic judgment.”
