2021 Ford F-150 Raptor teaser reveals Muscle Truck face, start date

While we already know the February 3 launch date for the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor, a new teaser image indicates the unveiling takes place at 11:00 a.m.ET. Plus, this is our first official, unscathed look at the latest iteration of the performance pickup.

The teaser image matches a diagram of the parts that leaked the front of the new Raptor. Ford lettering dominates the grille and the rest has a thick mesh. Along the top edge there are three skinny, separate lights.

A glimpse of the hood reveals raised sections with black trim on either side. There is also a large black section in the center.

A teaser on Facebook (above) offers a preview of the entire truck. Play the overture of Metallica Enter Sandman is a nice touch on the video of the Raptor crossing the desert.

The 2021 Raptor will come standard with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, according to a leaked dealer ordering guide. It is not clear if the engine horsepower has the same horsepower as the outgoing version with 450 horsepower (336 kilowatts) and 510 pound-feet (691 newton-meters). It wouldn’t be a big surprise if Ford cranked up the numbers just for the sake of bragging rights.

Judging by the exhaust rating in some spy videos, Ford could also be working on a V8 engine for the Raptor. Judging from the leaked dealership guide, it looks like this powertrain would arrive later in the vehicle’s run.

You will be able to get the Raptor in eight colors: Code Orange, Rapid Red, Velocity Blue, Antimatter Blue, Iconic Silver, Lead Foot, Agate Black, and Oxford White. Buyers will also be able to add a dual-pane sunroof for $ 1,495.

Other changes expected for the Raptor over the standard F-150 include a raised ride height and sophisticated suspension to absorb bumps. A sophisticated four-wheel-drive and four-wheel drive (depending on the mode) should reduce horsepower.
