The last episode of WandaVision explored the main ramifications Avengers: Endgame had over the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that might have teased the impending debuts of some surprising members of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Based on the introduction of Ant-Man and the Wasp With star Randall Park in his role as Jimmy Woo in the FBI, we might see familiar faces make a shocking appearance on the Disney + series. But which Avengers member makes the most sense to show up on Marvel Studios WandaVision, and why does their appearance make sense?
In the last episode of WandaVision, FBI Agent Jimmy Woo asks SWORD for help, in the form of Monica Rambeau, to help understand the bizarre anomaly centered around the town of Westview. While no one nearby seems to remember the city or its people, Woo was on the hunt for an informant who apparently disappeared within the city limits.
What if that informant was Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye or Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man? They are both members of the Avengers anti-registration team from Captain America: Civil War, both were under house arrest to return to their families as punishment for their crimes.
At time Avengers: Endgame, we realize that those sentences were likely commuted due to the insane circumstances surrounding “The Blip,” in which Thanos wiped out half the population. And now that everyone’s back, it’s unlikely that the FBI will have stopped keeping tabs on these two vigilantes, even though they’ve served their sentences. Especially in the case of Scott Lang, who was no longer under house arrest at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp but was still interesting for Woo’s surveys.
Maybe one of them flew in the co-op and in the context of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hawkeye makes the most sense. Clint Barton built a strong brotherly relationship with Wanda Maximoff following the death of his brother in Avengers: Age of Ultron. In Civil war and in End of Game, the two have been shown to share a strong bond due to their history.
Could Renner make a surprise appearance as a brainwashed Westview resident? Or will we have the ultimate shock with Rudd appearing as Scott Lang in one of the final episodes? Either way, don’t be surprised when a member of the Avengers appears in one of the remaining episodes of WandaVision, airs Friday on Disney +.
