Bridgerton has sparked a boom in demand for afternoon tea sets and formal tablecloths as fans attempt to recreate the Regency dining experience.
The monumental success of the Netflix show has fueled increased sales of patterned tablecloths, cake stands and champagne, reported The Telegraph.
The show became Netflix’s biggest hit this week with 82 million views in the first month it was available, setting the record for the most watched debut on the streaming service.
Set in 19th-century London, the series was adapted from a series of novels by Julia Quinn and follows the life of a family in upper-class society.

Since the show’s debut, sales of patterned tablecloths have increased 553%, according to the retailer. Meanwhile, plain tablecloth sales rose 228 percent and cake stands by 16 percent.
Even champagne saw an increase, with sales soaring 52 percent.
Nicola Hattersley, a table buyer at John Lewis, said: ‘Offering the perfect escape during the lockdown we see the country embrace afternoon tea while taking some extra time to set the table for dinner with formal tablecloths.
“We have also seen a strong demand for canopy beds, as customers have purchased more trendy furniture since the series released.
The eight-part series, which launched on Christmas Day, is now the streaming giant’s most-watched show in 83 countries, including the UK, France and the US.

Although recently released, Bridgerton easily overtook previous first place holder The Witcher, who received 76 million streams in their first 28 days.
Netflix drama chief Jinny Howe announced the impressive streaming numbers during an interview with Variety, adding that Bridgerton was in the top 10 on the list in every country except Japan.
Bridgerton was expected to reach 63 million households in its initial four-week projections, which means it exceeded the target of 19 million.
Netflix’s other hits, including The Queen’s Gambit and Lupine, also received very good numbers after their launches, with 62 and 70 yards respectively, reports Deadline.
Although recently released, Bridgerton easily overtook former first place holder The Witcher, who received 76 million streams in his first 28 days.
Reflecting on the timing of Bridgerton’s release amid the pandemic, drama boss Jinny said: ‘I think I see a pivot in terms of people who want things to feel a little more ambitious and s’ escape and feel good.
“It’s hard to know where we’ll be in a few years, but I think that will be the trend for a while. I imagine that it will continue to follow this blue sky, the road to well-being.
It comes after the hit drama Regency was confirmed for a second series, this time after Anthony Bridgerton’s quest for love.
Bridgerton follows the eponymous family and how their lives are turned upside down by revelations from the illusory and anonymous Lady Whistledown in London.
Netflix confirmed the news in an ironic statement written as the mysterious head of the Lady Whistledown show.

They also shared the news on Twitter and YouTube with a montage of the best clips from the first series.
The statement read: ‘The ton is abuzz with the latest gossip, so I have the honor to tell you: Bridgerton will officially return for a second season. I hope you have saved a bottle of ratafia for this most enjoyable occasion.
“ This author has been reliably informed that Lord Anthony Bridgerton intends to dominate the social season. I will have my pen to record all his romantic activities.
“ However, nice reader, before you fire up the comments section with more sordid requests for details, please be aware that I am not inclined to report the details just yet. Patience, after all, is a virtue. Yours, Lady Whistledown.
Season two is believed to begin production in the spring, Netflix has yet to confirm which characters will officially return for Series 2 or more details.
The first series focused heavily on the love story of Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, played by Regé-Jean Page, and Daphne Bridgerton, played by Phoebe Dynevor.
The two characters start off as friends as a ploy to deceive London’s elite and Lady Whistledown herself.
Yet, after falling in love, Simon is forced to confront his inner demons after swearing never to marry or father an heir to his duchy out of spite towards his violent late father.
The first series briefly touched on other stories, including Anthony’s own turbulent romance with his opera singer lover Siena Rosso, played by Sabrina Bartlett. It’s unclear if Anthony and Siena will reunite in Series 2.
