RALEIGH, NC (WTVD) – Central North Carolina could experience more wintry weather this weekend.

A winter weather advisory for the triangle north and west is in effect from Saturday evening through Sunday morning.

Throughout the day on Saturday the sun will give way to clouds and there might be a few flurries in the evening, but nothing like it the snow that fell a few days ago.

However, Sunday is another story. A slight winter mixing is possible early in the morning of the Triangle north from about 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., bringing sleet, snow or freezing rain. It should turn to rain after that. ABC11 meteorologist Steve Stewart says there could be up to 0.20 ” of ice buildup north and west of I-85 and travel should be avoided in those areas if possible tomorrow. morning.

Although the effect on the triangle should be minimal, freezing rain could cause slippery spots on the roads as temperatures hover around the frost mark.
