Cloverfield 2 in The Works From Bad Robot and Batman Writer

With The Cloverfield Paradox and 10 Cloverfield Lane, the idea of ​​a Movie “Cloverfield” at endured long after release from the 2008 original. But we never knew more about this story. This monster. And now, this could finally change.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Joe Barton, the last shownext runner HBO Max Show Gotham City, was hired by Bad Robot and Paramount to write a Cloverfield 2. Unlike the first film, this will not be a found film, but it will be a direct sequel to this film. The other Cloverfield movies were more “spiritual” suites, although the elements did tangentially tie them all together.

JJ Abrams, who helped design the first film with writer Drew Goddard and director Matt Reeves, will be back to produce but none of the other guys will be joining him. (Although Reeves is producing Barton’s show in Gotham City, then there is probably a link there.)

There’s also no word on what direction Barton will take, if he wants to get rid of the other movies, use some of the same characters, etc. for fans of the original Cloverfield, it’s certainly exciting to think that, finally, we’ll know more about the monster that terrified New Yorkers in 2008.
