Wendy Williams’ new biopic and documentary, Wendy Williams: The Movie and Wendy Williams: What a waste!, both premiered on Lifetime on Saturday, and the films focus on the talk show host’s rise to power, as well as her difficult family life.

While the biopic spends a lot of time exploring Wendy’s relationship with current ex-husband Kevin Hunter, the couple’s son, Kevin Hunter Jr., also makes an appearance.

While Wendy talks about her son here and there on her show and on Instagram, he mostly leads a BTS life. But who exactly is Kevin Hunter Jr.? Here is the truth.

He is 20 years old.

Wendy celebrated Kevin Jr.’s birthday in August with an Instagram photo filled with memories of his childhood and birth. “Today is my biggest day!” she wrote in the caption. “His son Kevin and I are turning 20. He’s in Miami and I’m in New York, but the love never stops.”

She continued, “If you look closely you will see the remains of the first haircut, my [cervical stitch] is on sneakers, like a mom … I have all her teeth😂 I’m not a fan of cake, but today OK … for my son❤ What are you doing? “

Kevin Jr. has a difficult relationship with his father.

He pleaded not guilty in June 2019 to charges of assaulting his father. According to TMZ, Kevin Jr. allegedly punched Kevin Sr. in the nose during an argument. Kevin Sr. did not file a complaint.

He supports his mother.

Kevin Jr. was there for his mother when she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a moment Wendy later celebrated on Instagram. “My son is shining! 💙💙💙⭐️⭐️⭐️” she captioned a photo of herself kissing Kevin on the cheek.

Wendy has opened up about the struggle to conceive Kevin Jr. She said during the 2015 PBS special American Masters: the list of women, through Gasoline, that she “fought tooth and nail to become a mother. I suffered several miscarriages, including two to five months.” Wendy also added that her son is a “hard-earned child”.

He conquered an addiction.

Five years ago, Wendy shared on her show that Kevin Jr., then 15, had overcome addiction to synthetic marijuana, K2. She later spoke of the experience with AND, saying: “Our son, three years ago, he smoked K2. Now it’s a drug, we see it on the news, people are walking around like zombies.”

Wendy said her son “turned into someone I didn’t even know”. But, Wendy said, her family got help for Kevin Jr. “I’m happy to say we were able to bring him back completely,” she said.

Kevin is currently in college.

He goes to school in Miami, according to Page six.
