One of the nation’s largest vaccination sites temporarily closed on Saturday because dozens of protesters blocked the entrance, blocking hundreds of motorists who had been queuing for hours, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Los Angeles firefighters closed the entrance to the Dodger Stadium vaccination center around 2 p.m. as a precaution, officials told the newspaper.

The protesters had members of anti-vaccine and far-right groups, the Times reported. Some of them carried signs decrying the COVID-19 vaccine and shouting for people not to get the vaccine.

There have been no incidents of violence, according to the Times.

“This is completely false,” said German Jaquez, who had left his home in La Verne and had been waiting an hour for his vaccination when the stadium gates were closed. He said some of the protesters were telling people online that the coronavirus is not real and that the vaccination is dangerous.

The vaccination site reopened shortly before 3 p.m., the Times reported. The site is generally open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

A social media post described the protest as the “SCAMDEMIC / WALK PROTEST”. He advised attendees to “Please don’t wear the Trump / MAGA outfit as we want our statement to resonate with the sheep. No flags but only information boards.

“This is an information-sharing demonstration and a march against any COVID, vaccine, PCR tests, lockdown, masks, Fauci, Gates, Newsom, China, digital tracking, etc.”
