Draymond Green and Klay Thompson had no patience for the Detroit Pistons’ sour grapes on Saturday night after the Golden State Warriors beat them 118-91.
Well, it wasn’t so much the Pistons as Rodney McGruder, who tried to engage with the Warriors after the last buzzer. He walked up to the Warriors’ tunnel and tried to get words with them on something Juan Toscano-Anderson said to Pistons teammate Wayne Ellington in the first half of the game.
Pistons swingman Rodney McGruder just came down near the Warriors tunnel after the game and was yelling at some Warriors players as they left the ground. He had to be pushed back several times by Pistons employees because he was overheated.

None of his Pistons teammates followed him and he was pushed back easily enough, but the incident caught the attention of Thompson and Green, who mercilessly mocked McGruder for his tough act.
Klay gets spicy
Thompson was not playing and was watching the game from the sideline. But he was on the mike in the moments after McGruder’s kerfuffle, and it got spicy right away.
Rodney McGruder walked over to the Warriors bench after the game, so the broadcast team asked Klay Thompson what was going on:
“This guy might be out of the league soon, he might be crazy about it. Who knows.”

Draymond roasts McGruder
Thompson was cutting, but Green was brutal. He was in the locker room when McGruder tried to start something with his teammates, but he went on McGruder during his post-game media session when a reporter asked him what happened after the last buzzer . “I don’t know. I was in the locker room. But apparently he was mistaking Wayne Ellington. When did Rodney McGruder get tough? I don’t know, man, everybody in the tough league these days- This. It’s crazy. I’ve seen a lot of tough guys this year. I don’t understand. And nobody does anything. Like if you really wanted to do something, you could have done it. Walking over there trying to do something. talk shit like he’s tough. Get the hell out of here. Damn tough, Rodney. Tough. Plus I’m rocking with Juan T. Juan T was about to bring that Town Bidness I got damn him Yeah, I rocked with Juan T on that one anyway.
“I also think that’s something Juan said in the first quarter or the second quarter to Wayne Ellington. You have nothing better to do than you always think about something from the first quarter or the second quarter. when you weren’t in the game. So apparently Wayne Ellington had to go on the bench. I guess he went to tell Rodney McGruder because he hadn’t been in the game. Yeah, I don’t know. There are too many tough guys in the league these days for me. But I don’t know anyone who isn’t afraid of any fucking Rodney McGruder, like I’m laughing at myself? Klay said it best, Klay said it best.
Toscano-Anderson saw Green’s rant and appreciated his defending teammate.
