I love a good media quarrel. Especially when I’m not involved in it. I will now try to tackle the last one without landing in the crossfire.

It’s from Mike Silver of NFL Network and Troy Aikman of FOX. It was triggered by the Jared Goff trade from Los Angeles to Detroit.

In Silver’s Sunday article regarding the relief Goff feels being traded by the Rams, Silver suggested that coach Sean McVay was criticizing Goff at FOX production meetings, and that Aikman had conveyed things to the public. as McVay said.

Often trashed this season on FOX shows, especially those with Troy Aikman as senior analyst, Goff could reasonably assume that McVay’s comments about his quarterback’s play in network production meetings were far from brilliant. Silver wrote.

Aikman responded with both barrels.

“Unlike Michael Silver, I strive to be fair and balanced and have no agenda when doing my job,” Aikman told Jimmy Traina of SI.com. “The record will show that I have been a strong supporter of Jared Goff over the years. Unfortunately for the Los Angeles Rams and Jared Goff, he hasn’t done his best in the games I’ve broadcast this season and I’m confident Jared would be the first to accept.

Aikman never addressed Camp Goff’s main claim: That McVay said bad things about Goff at production meetings, and that Aikman repeated those criticisms on air, without (as directed by the convention) mention McVay. Instead, Aikman went straight to the jugular.

And here’s where I’ll just end the post, in order to keep my chinstrap and all the other arteries intact. At least for another day.
