Tuesday, Cyberpunk 2077 Developer CD Projekt Red has cautioned against installing mods or custom backup files due to a vulnerability that could be used to “run code on PCs”. However, the studio quickly resolved a fix and you should now be able to safely install mods again thanks to the released patch 1.12. Friday morning.

CD Projekt Red has released numerous fixes and updates for Cyberpunk 2077 since its release on December 10 to address issues with the notoriously buggy game. And even the game’s patch 1.1, which was supposed to fix the issues, had a big problem in itself: It introduced a groundbreaking bug that CD Projekt Red has since fixed.

The studio plans to release Patch 1.2 at some point in the future, and promises it will be a “bigger and more meaningful update.” CD Projekt Red is also working on a free DLC and a free update to optimize Cyberpunk 2077 for new generation consoles.
