Dobbs retweeted nearly two dozen tweets on Friday night to express support for him and his show, which he anchored for a decade on the commercial network.
Several tweets called the former host a “patriot” and “GOAT” (the greatest of all time) while claiming that Fox was “in a tailspin” and “in a race with himself down” .

Trump himself praised Dobbs, one of his most vocal backers in the conservative media who regularly defended him while pursuing his political rivals. The host has been promoting theories of voter fraud after Trump’s loss last year and often berated Republicans he saw as not sufficiently defending the former president.
“Lou Dobbs is and has been awesome. No one loves America more than Lou. He had a large and loyal following who will be watching his next move closely, and what follows includes me,” Trump said in a declaration retweeted by Dobbs.

Fox News Media announced Friday that it had canceled the Dobbs show, which was the most popular show on Fox Business.
A spokesperson said the network regularly assesses programming changes and the decision to cancel “Lou Dobbs Tonight” was part of plans to “launch new formats where appropriate after the election.”
The move was announced a day after Dobbs and other Fox and pro-Trump figures were named in a $ 2.7 billion lawsuit against voting technology company Smartmatic.
The lawsuit claims the numbers hurt the company by spreading misinformation about the use of its election technology and software.
Fox News Media called the lawsuit baseless and said it plans to defend it in court.
Starting Monday, Dobb’s schedule will be replaced with a new 5pm interim show called “Fox Business Tonight” with Jackie DeAngelis and David Asman.
