National anthem prop dropping off Legal Books board after video reveals time

One of the more popular prop bets looks unlikely to be available on Super Bowl Sunday.

After Florida reporter Zach Maskavich checked in the rehearsal of the national anthem outside the Raymond James stadium, legal sports betting was forced to adapt.

Although betting on the length of the anthem is not legal in American sports betting, PointsBet in Australia offered the bet. However, it was removed the table with the intention of putting a new number. But in the end PointsBet decided not to do it.

PointsBet in the United States, which was going to offer an in-game prop relative to the length of the anthem, also put this idea aside.

Illegal sports betting is still acting on the novelty prop, but has also started removing the option from the board. Leaks are not uncommon for these types of bets, which is one of the reasons they are not offered in the legal markets as a direct option. To be legal in the United States and approved by the gaming commissions, it must be offered against another accessory.

The accessory had been listed between 1:57 and 1:59 for the duration. When the recording of the rehearsal inside the stadium revealed a time of 2:16, that messed up everything and made the listed line moot.

Over the past few years the line has changed based on rumors, but the actual recording is more than just hearsay.
