Laboratory identifies positive variant of COVID-19 in Denmark in NC

“As we continue our sequencing of the indicated samples, we have seen a continued increase in the occurrence of variants,” said Steve Hoover, vice president of laboratory operations at MAKO Medical. “Over the past week, the samples shown are now returning positive variant cases at a rate of 50%, up from 25% last week. The information we collect is shared directly with state health officials to help understand the presence of the variants in communities across the country.
