Cleveland Cavaliers’ Larry Nance Jr. to miss 4-6 weeks with fractured finger

Cleveland Cavaliers forward Larry Nance Jr. has a fractured finger on his left hand that will likely require surgery, and he will be missing four to six weeks, sources told ESPN.

Nance, who was injured in the Cavaliers’ 124-99 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, was a big part of the team’s strong start to the season (10-14), excelling on the defensive end.

He is second in the NBA in interceptions with 1.9 per game. Nance is averaging 9.3 points and 6.8 rebounds in 33.4 minutes per game this season.

He recently missed time with a sprained right wrist.

The loss of Nance further diminishes the Cavaliers’ frontcourt, where former All-Star Kevin Love is still out as he recovers from a leg injury. Love shouldn’t return until the end of an upcoming five-game Western Conference road trip. The Cavaliers have lost three straight games and the next game in Phoenix on Monday.
