Mets reportedly absent on Jackie Bradley Jr. following Almora deal

According to Deesha Thosar from New York Daily News, the Mets are “out” on the field of free center player Jackie Bradley Jr. following their agreement in principle with Albert Almora Jr.

It has been reported that the Mets apparently had turned their attention to Bradley after Trevor Bauer signed with the Dodgers, in an attempt to fill a hole in the center.

However, the former Red Sox center was on the hunt for a big deal – one that could potentially last over four years. This follows an early prediction by MLB Trade Rumors of a two-year contract worth $ 16 million per year. It wouldn’t be out of the question that these high demands led the Mets to choose Almora over Bradley to fill that need at center.
