Phoebe Bridgers made her “Saturday Night Live” debut on February 6 to much praise and critical criticism.
During the 26-year-old’s second performance on the Studio 8H stage, she sang “I Know The End”, then smashed her guitar on an amp and screamed with her bandmates.
Many people took to Twitter in reaction to his behavior and called him “extra” and “anger”.
“Why did this woman, Phoebe Bridgers, destroy her guitar on SNL? I mean, I didn’t care much about the song either, but it sounded awesome,” said one person.

“I have no idea who it is. I searched for her on Google and got even less clue, but the way she destroys her guitar makes it look like she’s having a temper tantrum , and I’m frankly done with an adult ** throwing tantrums in public, “reasoned another.
Bridgers actually responded to a few fans who called her for destroying the electric guitar.
“I told danelectro [the guitar company] I was going to do it and they wished me good luck and said they were hard to break, ”she revealed on Twitter.
The California native also assured everyone that the monitor broken in the process was wrong. “They scythe me to break lol,” she says.

Another fan came to Bridgers’ defense and explained how it is a long tradition of breaking guitars on the “SNL” scene. citing Arcade Fire in 2007 and Sturgill Simpson in 2020.
Another person commented that it seemed “misogynistic” to attack Bridgers when the men are praised for doing the same.
“It sounds really misogynistic when it comes to just hating when a woman does something that tons of men have constantly cheered on, not just in the distant past, but RECENTLY?” the the user wrote.

During the episode hosted by Dan Levy, Bridgers also performed “Kyoto” from his recent album “Punisher”.
This year, she also earned four 2021 Grammy nominations: Best New Artist, Best Alternative Album, and Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance.
