Stocks ended higher on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average posting its first record close since Jan. 20 as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite each marked their third consecutive record. The Dow DJIA,
rose about 237 points, or 0.8% to close near 31,385, breaking its previous closing high of 31,188.38. The S&P 500 SPX,
gained around 29 points, or 0.7%, to close near 3,916, while the Nasdaq rose around 131 points, or 0.9%, to close near 13,988. Analysts said the benefits, continued COVID-19 vaccine rollout and expectations Congress will approve another major round of aid spending to support the economy has helped stocks continue their push into record territory.
