TSN’s Frank Seravalli reports that the Flyers-Capitals game has been postponed.

TSN’s Darren Dreger first reported that the Flyers were having issues with COVID-19 earlier in the morning. Cryptically, Dredger added that “more information (should) surface after the medical meetings this morning.” He was right.

Flyers defenseman Travis Sanheim tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday morning. The NHL then ran quick tests on all of the Flyers’ players and staff before ultimately deciding the game would be played. It could have been a mistake.
The problem now is that another Flyers player tested positive late Monday night, which means the team could have an outbreak.

And not good either for the referees who took the ice Sunday.
The two linesmen who worked both matches in the Sabers-Devils series have entered COVID-19 protocols, The Athletic has learned.

The Flyers being out of action, the East Division has only five active teams. The Buffalo Sabers and New Jersey Devils are already sidelined due to their own epidemics.
The Capitals have postponed their other two games against the Sabers later this week, which means their next game will be on Sunday against the Penguins.
