Two Longhorns land in second round of Draft Wire’s final mock NFL draft

Draft Wire editor Luke Easterling posted an updated two-round NFL simulation draft shortly after the Super Bowl ended.

In recent months, numerous national media have attributed former Texas offensive tackle Samuel Cosmi and passed runner Joseph Ossai as a first-round prospect.

As we get closer to the 2021 NFL Draft, it looks like Cosmi’s stock draft is starting to slip. Ossai’s draft generally ranged from a late first-round pick to a late second-round pick, therefore his projections varied depending on the false draft you’re viewing.

That could of course change over the next couple of months, but Easterling now predicts Cosmi and Ossai will land in the second round.

The Texas star left tackle was taken off the board with the New York Jets’ No. 34 pick. All-rounder Joseph Ossai, listed as an EDGE prospect, landed at No.55 overall for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

According to ESPN project analyst Mel Kiper Jr., Cosmi lacked consistency.

He’s one of those polarizing guys. If you see him in some games you like his skills as a left tackle, as a right tackle as well, and in others where he has had problems in those 1 on 1 situations. He’s going to be one of those. teams of guys who might roll the dice for sooner… there will be a lot of differences of opinion but someone will take it.

In Tony Pauline’s latest big draw for Pro Football Network, Ossai was listed as his 27th overall prospect. The 2021 draft class doesn’t have a real passing defender and Ossai could continue to improve his stock with an impressive Pro Day in Austin.

The 2021 NFL Draft is scheduled to begin Thursday, April 29.
