Michael Irvin is not happy with Tyrann Mathieu.

The Hall of Fame catcher didn’t like the tweet deleted from Chiefs safety about Tom Brady after the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl 2021 victory on Sunday. After a heated exchange with Brady before half-time, Mathieu wrote on Twitter: “He called me something that I won’t repeat, but yeah, I’m going to let all the media throw me under the bus like I’m him had done something or was telling him something.

Irvin felt the tweet welcomed speculation about Brady using a racial insult to Mathieu, and Tuesday Irvin went on to “The Rich Eisen Show” to say that Brady did not use such language.

“I didn’t like Tyrann Mathieu saying it like that, the way he said it, honestly, because I thought – come on, now it makes people want to know ‘What the hell’ he said ‘, as if he said the n-word. And he didn’t. Tom didn’t, ”Irvin said. “So I don’t even like what’s going on in this situation. That’s why I think we should clean this up somewhere, one way or another. That is what I am saying. He didn’t say that.

ESPN reported on Monday that Brady texted Mathieu after the game apologizing “for losing his temper at the time of the game.”
