Something fishy about the ‘very positive’ reviews of this Steam game

Evolution Emoji is a simple puzzle game where you “combine different pieces to find a new one” in order to – and wow, this really escalates – “to solve mankind’s main dilemma”. It seems that Steam users are enjoying it quite well …where do they?

Take another look at this image from their Steam page and you’ll notice that while recent reviews are “mixed”, the game developer has replicated the look of a game with recent and overall reviews “very. positives ”by changing developer / publisher. names to “very positive”. Due to Valve’s font and color choices, the effect is that it looks like the review summary section of a Steam page. As Vice journalist (and Kotaku-ite from another life) Patrick Klepek put it on twitter: “Well, this is one way to trick people into thinking your game has positive reviews on Steam!”

Uh, Valve? Hey, Valve ??? You might want to … not let the developers do this.
