WASHINGTON – Texas GOP Senator Ted Cruz accused Disney of going down to quash the culture in a tweet Thursday after the company sacked actress Gina Carano for controversial social media posts.

The former MMA fighter was cast from the “Star Wars” spinoff show “The Mandalorian” after she wrote a social media article comparing being conservative to Jewish in Nazi Germany.

“Texan Gina Carano broke barriers in the Star Wars universe: not a princess, not a victim, not emotionally tortured Jedi,” Cruz wrote.

“She played a woman who kicked the ass that the girls admired. She helped make Star Wars fun again. Of course, Disney canceled it, ”he continued.

Disney’s sacking of Carano and subsequent dumping by the United Talent Agency (UTA) sparked outrage online and saw the hashtag #CancelDisneyPlus become an online trend.

“Disney canceled @ginacarano, so I’m canceling my @disneyplus,” Rubin Report host Dave Rubin tweeted.

“Stop give money to people who hate youAdded right-wing commentator Jack Posobiec, who also noted that Disney had re-hired director James Gunn despite the fury over the old posts he had published that shed light on pedophilia and rape.

“Disney rehired James Gunn but fired Gina Carano tells you everything” Posobiec wrote.
