Supergirl’s Melissa Benoist Signs Global Deal with Warner Bros. TV, Forms Production Company

Melissa Benoist will take a more active role in finding new projects once her stint on Supergirl ends after signing a new global deal and moving to form a production company.

The 32-year-old actress signed an exclusive multi-year contract with Warner Bros. Television, Variety reported Friday.

With his Supergirl series wrapped up after the upcoming sixth season, Benoist will be focusing his attention on his new company, Three Things Productions.

Thanks to her company, which she named after Mary Oliver’s poem, Three Things To Remember, Benoist would develop and produce original television programs.

The company said in a statement that its mission is to find “ meaningful, unapologetic, courageous and authentic projects with the goal of exploring stories that lead with impact. ”

The company will produce television shows for WarnerMedia’s flagship streaming service, HBO Max, as well as other cable channels or broadcast stations.

The new deal marks Benoist’s first comprehensive deal as a producer with a major studio.

I can’t wait to collaborate with new voices and find stories that strike your heart in this undefinable way.

Will join the actress as vice president of development for her production company, Sahar Kashi, who previously worked as a creative executive on Apple TV + ‘s Home Before Dark, as well as the high school dark drama 13 Reasons Why from Netflix.

Before joining Apple, she worked at Netflix and Fox.

Benoist, who has previously starred in Glee and the Waco miniseries, welcomed her first child, son Huxley, with husband Chris Wood in September 2020.

The couple got engaged in February 2019 and married in September of the same year.
