The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has told pharmaceutical maker Moderna it can start adding up to 40% more of its COVID-19 vaccine formula in each of its vial shipments, sources tell the New York Times.
Officials will ask Moderna to submit additional data confirming that the dose change will not adversely affect the vaccine’s effectiveness.
