First period

ET 1, Denver 0 – Jasper Weatherby (Mark Senden, Gavin Hain) 4:58. UND is first on the board when Senden comes out of the corner with the puck and shoots one up the area, where Weatherby deflects him high on Denver goalie Magnus Chrona’s glove.

ET 1, Denver 1 – Jake Durflinger (Antti Tuomisto, McKade Webster) 7:42 a.m. Denver stops at the end of a penalty. Durflinger, in the box for a trip, comes out of the penalty area and Tuomisto hits him behind the UND defense. Durflinger dekes over UND goalie Peter Thome and finishes him off.

Second period

ET 2, Denver 1 – Shane Pinto (Matt Kiersted, Brendan Budy) 7:43 a.m. Caulfield has the puck along the goal line and curls up to take a bad angle. Realizing that there is no one there and that it will be an easy save, he retains possession and continues to work in the corner. This ultimately leads to a Budy shot from the point. Budy hits the post and the puck passes behind Chrona, where Kiersted crashes and tries to score. He can’t, but Pinto finds him and buries him for his 14th of the season at the top of the NCHC.

ET 2, Denver 2 – Carter Savoie (Ryan Barrow) 11:40 a.m. UND sets up an A-grade chance in the offensive end as Pinto hits Jacob Bernard-Docker wide open, narrowing the gap. Bernard-Docker fumbles the puck, however, never gets a shot and Denver goes the other way on a two-on-one. Savoie, on the left side, takes the shot himself and beats Thome on the glove side.

ET 3, Denver 2 – Collin Adams (Jordan Kawaguchi, Riese Gaber) 15:55 (pp). UND gets a lucky rebound to regain the lead. Adams, with the puck below the goal line, attempts a pass to Pinto in the left circle. Adam’s pass hits Denver defender Griffin Mendel and bounces behind Chrona.

Third period

ET 4, Denver 2 – Jasper Weatherby (Judd Caulfield, Brendan Budy) 11:28 a.m. Moments after the end of a five-minute major with Carter Savoie of Denver, Caulfield entered the zone on a harmless run and skated the puck to the right circle, where he threw a wrong-angle shot into the net. Chrona throws a big rebound and Weatherby calls for his second goal of the night.

ET 5, Denver 2 – Judd Caulfield (Jordan Kawaguchi, Jasper Weatherby) 18:57 (en).
