KBA, the German motor vehicle regulator, has asked Tesla to recall approximately 12,300 Model X vehicles around the world due to trim adhesive issues. According to Roadshow, KBA said the molding could come loose and cause parts of the trim to fall, which could cause a serious incident if this happens while the car is in motion.
The problem concerns cars built between 2015 and 2016, according to the transport company. Tesla announced a recall in November for more than 9,000 Model X cars in the United States due to issues with headliner adhesive. It is not known if the two recalls focus on the exact same issue.
It emerged earlier this month that Tesla will recall around 135,000 Model X and Model S electric vehicles following pressure from NHTSA. The recall, which begins at the end of next month, was announced due to an eMMC flash storage issue that could cause the touchscreen to crash.
