In the trailer for the upcoming original comedy series Peacock Girls5Eva, Busy Philipps, Sara Bareilles, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Paula Pell sing a four part harmony on a fake ’90s song that makes less sense the more you think about it, but sounds great. Philipps, in particular, gives a parcel bit the energy of Alexis into his solo. Girls5Eva, Created by Meredith Scardino and produced by Tina Fey, this is a single successful ’90s girl group who gets a second chance to get famous when sampled by a young rapper. Ashley Park, the fifth member of Girls5Eva, is notably, mysteriously absent from this teaser. They will have to reconstitute the group. Three of us are excited to wait for three (because it’s one more than two).
