Steph Curry arguably had the best-worst game of his career on Wednesday night in an overtime win over the Miami Heat. He scored 25 points on 25 shots, including 20 three-point attempts (which tied a career high). He’s only done five of those long distance jumpers, but two made it into the extra period, including the clincher with 17 seconds left. He also received a lot of help from Kent Bazemore, who had 26 points.
“I probably took five bad ones, I would say, and the rest of them weren’t on the dribble anymore,” Curry said afterward.
But before The game, Curry tapped into a very different part of his skill set – one that we rarely get to see.
He’s soaked! Which isn’t really a big deal on its own, since every player in the NBA can technically dunk. The twist is his reaction, a very decent recreation of Baron Davis’ celebration in the 2007 playoffs when he blew Utah Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko up. You know what happened: Oracle Arena blew up and Davis lifted his jersey, which unfortunately resulted in him being a technical foul.
Either way, Curry didn’t have anyone to jump on, and he didn’t have a technical foul, but he’s committed to playing for a long time.
I rate this impression at 8 out of 10.
