NASCAR fine-tuned the bus stop chicane at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course ahead of this weekend’s triple National Series title, following feedback from drivers at the season opener Busch Clash.
The sanctioning body added rumble strips to the chicane of turns 9 and 10 on the rear end to prevent cars from entering the grass and spraying dirt on the racing surface and other cars.

The rumbling bands will be the same as the front baffle. One to the driver’s right at the entrance is approximately 36 feet long and the other approximately 30 feet long.
Such as several pilots have approached the idea to NASCAR leadership, with Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr., Joey Logano, Kyle Larson and Chase Briscoe among the group contributing specific ideas.

Elliott will look to win his third straight NASCAR Cup Series road race on Sunday in O’Reilly Auto Parts 253 at Daytona (3 p.m. ET, FOX, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio). He will start on pole with Daytona 500 champion Michael McDowell by his side in the front row.
Elliott won the inaugural NASCAR Cup Series track race last year, and he nearly won the Busch Clash event too. An aggressive move for the win put Elliott and race leader Ryan Blaney out of the competition, allowing Busch to pass for the win.
