Demi Lovato continues to talk about her near-fatal overdose in 2018.
The singer, 28, recently spoke to People magazine, revealing that she “won’t change a thing” about the way events unfolded after the overdose.
“Everything had to happen for me to learn the lessons I learned,” the multi-phenate told the media outlet during a Television Critics Association panel. “It was a painful journey, and I look back and sometimes I get sad when I think of the pain I had to go through to get over what I have, but I don’t regret a thing.”
Lovato noted that she is “proud” of who she is today and expressed her enthusiasm for people to see her upcoming four-part YouTube documentary, “Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil”.

“I’m so proud of who I am today,” Lovato continued. “I am so proud that people can see it in this documentary and I couldn’t be more grateful to have someone by my side.”
The trailer for Lovato’s documentary series debuted on Wednesday. In the trailer, she explained that she had “five to 10 minutes” to go through after suffering a heart attack and three strokes from her overdose.

With his documentary series set to premiere on March 23, Lovato hopes the series will “set the record straight” on his life and struggles.
“I wanted to reveal everything to my fans and say that this is who I am and this is where I am today and this is the journey that brought me here, and if that helps you then I hope it’s possible because that was ultimately my goal in posting this, ”she continued in her interview with People.

Lovato spoke more about her overdose and its lasting effects during the TCA YouTube panel on Wednesday and revealed that she also suffered from brain damage.
“I was left with brain damage and I am still experiencing the effects today,” Lovato said. “I don’t drive a car because I have blind spots in my vision.”

Lovato said she also had trouble reading because her vision was so blurry. It took him about two months to “read a book”.
