Vampires are immortal, unless a killer stakes them. But the actors who represent them are too human and therefore age as we all do.
That’s why Sarah Michelle Gellar says she believes she’s ‘long in the tooth’ for any potential Buffy the Vampire Slayer to restart.
Now 43, the actress made the comments by appearing on the On with Mario Lopez podcast. While still remarkably young, Gellar said the show requires a teenager to play The Slayer.
Gellar claimed she was a “little bit, how do they say, long in the tooth for that.” The monsters Buffy faced “were a metaphor for the horrors of adolescence,” she explained. “I think this story lends itself, it would be interesting to see how an elected official could handle this. I don’t think it’s me, I don’t think I should be the one to do it.
She added that she was “far too tired and cranky to start this job again”.
