WandaVision’s Teyonah Parris has revealed that Captain Marvel 2 will show more details about Monica and Carol’s relationship issues during an interview.
WandaVisionTeyonah Parris added fuel to the fires of fan speculation when she hinted that Captain Marvel 2 explains the tension between Monica Rambeau and Carol Danvers.
When asked in an interview if the tension between his character Monica and Captain Marvel that is shown in WandaVision will be explained to the public “sooner or later,” Parris told ET Canada, “As you know, I was told that I would be joining the cast of Captain Marvel 2 with Brie Larson and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan. The interviewer paused but Parris remained tight-lipped on any further details about the type of tension between the two Marvel Cinematic Universe characters.

Although Parris has not confirmed why the tensions are there, or when they started, the two characters will once again be spending time together in Captain Marvel 2. At the time of this writing, it’s unclear what year the sequel movie is set. Avengers: Endgame set in 2023 and starring Captain Marvel while its origin story film set in 1995, leaving decades of time for a follow-up film to play with and explore Monica and Carol’s relationship dynamics.
Parris had previously responded to rumors that Monica would become the new Captain Marvel in the MCU, noting, “Monica Rambeau has held a lot of nicknames over the decades and I think they’ve all been really special in a very special way. ” Parris added, “I don’t know how or who she’ll be in the MCU.
