Texas energy company Griddy has been banned from participating in the state’s electricity market, according to a report.

The Texas Electric Reliability Council on Friday revoked Griddy’s rights to enter the state’s electricity market, due to a payment violation, Bloomberg reported.

Griddy had previously said he would challenge the prices set by ERCOT during the crisis.

The company was recently criticized for pushing its energy bills up to $ 17,000 per customer during last week’s deadly winter storm.

The company is at the center of a billion dollar class action lawsuit. The lawsuit accuses Griddy of abusing prices and failing to protect its customers from astronomical energy costs.
