Sony makes the surprising decision to reveal one of the free PlayStation Plus games for April 2021 a few months in advance.
Sony took a little longer than usual this month to reveal the next batch of free PS Plus games. However, many would agree that it was worth the wait, as the free PS Plus games for March 2021 include a total of four games, including the critically acclaimed game. Final Fantasy 7 remake, who is not even a year old yet. But while it took Sony a while to announce the free PS Plus games for March 2021, it wasted no time giving fans a taste of what to expect from the lineup of April.
At the last PlayStation State of Play event, Sony announced the first free PS Plus game for April 2021. Ultimately, Oddworld: Soul Storm on PS5 will be available to PS Plus subscribers when it launches on April 6. The latest entry from the popular Strange world franchise, Oddworld: Soul Storm is described by the developers as a 2.9D cinematic puzzle platformer and a reinvention of Oddworld: Abe’s Exodus.

Oddworld: Soul Storm was one of the first games revealed for Sony’s PlayStation 5 console, which is fitting because the original game is so closely tied to the PlayStation brand. Oddworld: Soul Storm on PS5 will have some unique features that help it stand out from other versions of the game, including superior graphics as well as DualSense controller support.
With the PS5, Sony has gotten into the habit of announcing free PS Plus games longer in advance. He did it when he announced Bugsnax as the first free PS Plus game for the PS5, and it did so with AllStars Destruction. Similar to Oddworld: Soul Storm, PlayStation Plus subscribers knew months in advance that they could expect AllStars Destruction to be one of their free games for February.
The other free PS Plus games for April 2021 are being kept under wraps for now and are unlikely to be revealed before the end of April. However, fans can count on at least two PS4 games joining Oddworld: Soul Storm for April, and there’s a possibility that a free PlayStation VR game will be added to the mix as well. Sony is known to do this occasionally, with the latest example being the free PS Plus games for March 2021, including the PSVR exclusive. Farpoint.
For now, PS Plus subscribers can still claim the free PS Plus games for February 2021. They include the previously mentioned games. AllStars Destruction on PS5, Control: Ultimate Edition, and Concrete engineering.
