Good news for Division 2 player: Ubisoft and Massive have made plans for the future of the game, including a brand new mode later this year. Bad news: don’t expect anything new for a while.

In a blog post titled “The Road Ahead”,The developers behind the online looter-shooter, Massive Entertainment, explained that The Division 2 had a successful 2020 and presented the first plans for the future. The great news is that a new fashion is coming. Massive describes it as “entirely new to the franchise”. This would seem to imply that it is not only survival mode of Division 1, something the fans wanted Division 2 for years.

This new mode will not be added to the game until “end of 2021” at the earliest. And it looks like it could easily slip away as game developers continue to fight the global pandemic. Covid-19 has already led to a recent resident Evil crossing event being considerably reduced in scope and scale.

Massive also announced that future seasons of The Division 2 this year will only be reruns of the last few seasons. So “season 5” will be season 1 again. For those players who got into the game after some of these seasons have ended, this is a good way to give them a chance to play this content again. . But for the players who ‘I’ve been playing for Warlords of NYC or before, this is disappointing news. While there are new sartorial events taking place this year, it’s quite something.

Massive will continue to be involved in the development The Division 2, however, the company also explained that Ubisoft Bucharest will help create content for the online shooter. This makes sense because Massive is also working on a Avatar Thu and Star wars Thu.

Last month, Ubisoft and Massive have confirmed that The Division 2 would continue to receive new updates and content after Season 4. Ahead of this news, fans wondered if the game was going to end as the Season 4 storyline summed up the storylines and character arcs that began in Game 1. Even the name of season 4, “End of Watch ”, sounded very final.

So yes it seems The Division 2 will continue to keep going, but I doubt that many players will stick around to replay old seasons while waiting for something new.
