The No.4 Illinois got off to a great start in their recall for the top five road win over Michigan, holding a 41-37 halftime lead against No.7 Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio.

Ohio State was able to hit enough shots to hang in the game, but Illinois did a good job of making life difficult for the Buckeyes on the offensive end of the field. Whether it’s chasing shooters off the 3-point line or challenging the kind of deep stares that typically fuel the Ohio State attack, Illinois has so far done a good job. better job on the defensive side than in the first meeting this year.
We’ll see if Ohio state can start making second-half saves, but if Illinois continue to dominate the rim and the 64.3% field goal percentage, it looks likely the Fighting Illini will take a big step forward to secure a No. 1 seed at the 2021 NCAA tournament.
