Paul Daley believes he was unfairly penalized for Michael Page and claims that corruption was involved in the result of the Bellator star.
The page defeated Daley in a close fight, getting a unanimous decision from the judges. A firework display was planned between the two British strikers, whose hatred manifested itself during a quarrel that simmered for two years. But surprisingly, it never reached a boiling point on Saturday night at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Instead, Daley came out on his positions, relying on his struggle to use a heavy takedown attack. As for Daley, he won the fight three rounds to two.
Daley, disappointed, said Sunday in a post on Instagram that he thought the fight had not been conducted at his own pace, and accused Bellator of having influenced the outcome.
I am disappointed, the MMA policy and the protection of Bellator are investments. I feel that I've won 3 rounds at 2. IMO I've beaten this crazy. Really. Close combat. It's just sad that the MMA goes in the direction of boxing. I am a "striker" who struggled, so I lost, and the idiot with which they invested money was won. ?
Since Daley thinks he has used a smart plan against a small-scale attacker, Page's remarks about his victory at the post-fight press conference will not fail to blur Daley's eyes.
"I made a lot of mistakes myself. But at the same time, I told you guys, he was a bitch, "said Page. "He talked about all this to be able to knock me out and he ran all the first round. And all he wanted to do was work on the field, play the fight. "
Daley and Bellator President Scott Coker have had a difficult relationship in the past. It was just last year that Daley asked for his release from the promotion, citing a lack of respect on the part of Coker and Co. Both parties ended up solving their problem well before organizing the fight against Page. But it seems like a big step back has been accomplished as a result of the result.
