Work begins on Berm for a potential 3rd theme park at Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris has started construction of a large berm surrounding the area of ​​what is expected to be a new theme park that they are to build by 2036. The barrier will be up to 5m high and 800m around, or almost half a mile long.

The purpose of this construction is to act as a visual and sound barrier. Construction of the new theme park would be right behind Disney’s Sequoia Lodge.

The project is expected to take place in three phases. The first phase would include preparatory works, such as excavation and construction of a maintenance track. After that, land will be allocated to the area throughout the summer, and then planting will start around October 2021 and last until March 2022.

The French government granted a time extension last year on the project, allowing the park to be built by 2036 if it reaches the number of visitors annually agreed by both parties.
