President Donald Trump opened the Saturday Night Live review this morning: "Nothing funny about the tired Saturday night on NBC's Fake News!"
The film, starring Alec Baldwin mimicking Trump and tapping the border, still provokes the Commander in Tweet, who has already taken pictures of Baldwin and SNL.
But this is a critic who has more than the power of the stylus (or keyboard) to act, making some of his comments dangerous and more disturbing than mere blame. Trump also asked how the networks were firing with "these total Republican jobs without retribution?"
He later tweeted for good measure: "THE RIGGED MEDIA AND CORRUPTS IS THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!"
It's early in the day, so maybe the long queues at the omelette bar stir up indignation. We will keep an eye on the situation as it develops. The good news is that the tweets published earlier in the day have presented optimistic predictions about trade negotiations with China and the approval ratings of its presidency, so maybe the SNL storm will pass.
The tweetstorm up to now:
