A few new comments from Rockstar Games parent Take-Two Interactive can’t wait to see PS5 and Xbox Series X gamers GTA 6 a little worried and holding their wallets firmly. On PS5 and Xbox Series X, some games cost $ 70. On PS4 and Xbox One, games have never surpassed the $ 60 price tag we’ve had for over a decade. And some games are still priced at $ 60, however, slowly but steadily the publishers are moving up to the price of $ 70. Last year, Take-Two Interactive charged $ 70 for NBA 2K21 on PS5 and Xbox Series X. And now it looks like it might charge $ 70 for more games in the future, which has Grand Theft Auto fans on alert.
As you might expect, there has been some negative feedback about the price increases for some games, but apparently not enough. At this month’s Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom conference, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick revealed that Take-Two believes consumers are ready for the increase.
“We announced a price of $ 70 for NBA 2K21, and our opinion was that we offer a range of amazing experiences, a lot of replayability, and the last time there was a frontline price increase in the US was in 2005, 2006, so we think that consumers were ready for it ”CEO.
Luckily for Grand Theft Auto fans, Zelnick followed this up by noting that he and his team don’t think every game will be at this price as not all games justify the increase; however, it looks like its biggest games will all make that leap.
“We haven’t said anything about the pricing of other titles so far, and we tend to do title-by-title announcements, but I think our vision is still to deliver more value.”
During the same conference, Zelnick also – finally – addressed the rumors and speculation about GTA 6, however, unsurprisingly, his answer was not very revealing.
At the time of publication, Grand Theft Auto VI has not been confirmed or announced. However, it has been the subject of constant rumors, reports and leaks, which you can all catch up on by clicking here. In the meantime, as always, feel free to drop a comment or two to let us know what you think or, alternatively, let me know on Twitter. @Tyler_Fischer_. Would you be willing to pay $ 70 for GTA 6.
