The 2021 Oscar nominations have been announced.
The list of top nominees for photos includes a number of original films for streaming services, and several that have already made their way to these services despite their recent releases.
The Golden Globes, which are usually a strong sign of who will win Oscar night gold, took place just over two weeks ago and provided a big night for streaming, albeit more heavily in categories in television than in cinema.
Netflix received a number of nominations, while several other nominees worked on major services such as Hulu, HBO Max, and Amazon Prime Video.

Here’s a look at where you can stream this year’s Oscar nominated films.
“The father”
“The Father,” starring Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman, won six Oscar nominations, including four in the major categories.
The film began hitting theaters on February 26 and will be available for rental on premium on-demand platforms and in the coming weeks for digital rental.
The film tells the story of a man struggling with dementia as his daughter tries to cope.
“Judas and the Black Messiah”
One of the more recent entries in the Oscar race, “Judas and the Dark Messiah” won a handful of major nominations.
The movie ended in Warner Bros. ‘streaming deal for the year 2021, which means it became available for free on HBO Max until recently, as it’s only offered for one month. It is still shooting in theaters and should be available for rental in the coming weeks.

The story follows the final days of civil rights leader Frank Hampton and the FBI undercover operation that monitored him.
“Lack”
“Mank” was one of the first Oscar favorites and won 10 nominations, the best of all nominees for Best Picture.
The film is a Netflix original, which means it’s the only place it can be viewed, despite being free to all subscribers.
The Hollywood Tale follows screenwriter Herman Mankiewicz as he struggles to create the script for “Citizen Kane”.
“Threatening”
While “Minari” was expected to land a few nods from the Academy, the film surprised by picking up a total of six nominations.
The film is available to rent for $ 19.99 on digital platforms.
OSCARS CEREMONY FOR BROADCAST USE FROM MULTIPLE VENUES
The story sees a family of Korean immigrants find their place in America in the 1980s.
“Nomadland”
Having won several Golden Globes, “Nomadland” is currently the favorite for best photo.
The film can be seen in theaters and streamed on Hulu, although it is not an original from the streamer, as it was released by Disney’s Searchlight Pictures.
The film examines the life of a modern American nomad, who moves from place to place, living only in her van.
“Promising young woman”
“Promising Young Woman,” one of the inspiring and feminine stories of the year, is available for rental $ 19.99 on digital platforms and has won five Oscar nominations.
The film tells the story of Cassie, a grieving friend who tries to scare off sleazy men.

“Sound of metal”
“Sound of Metal” earned a number of top nominations this year and can now be streamed for free on Amazon Prime Video.
The film is not a Prime original, however, having been released in theaters shortly before hitting the streamer.
Riz Ahmed plays a metal drummer who loses his hearing in the film.
“The Chicago Trial 7”
The legendary screenwriter tried again to direct with “The Trial of the Chicago 7”, which won six nominations. The film is a Netflix original and can be streamed exclusively on the platform.
