Lindsey Boylan leads NYC Cuomo impeachment rally as fans rally to support

Protesters came to bury Governor Andrew Cuomo – and to congratulate him – at the dueling rallies in Manhattan on Saturday.

Lindsey Boylan, the first female accuser whose allegations of sexual harassment as a Cuomo staff member lit the fuse on ongoing efforts to oust her, has led impeachment demands in Washington Square Park.

“The abuse is not confined to one person or one area,” Boylan told a crowd of around 100 activists. “Someone who abuses their power isn’t just doing it to a woman or a community. They do this at some level for each person and each community.

Boylan, now Democratic candidate for president of the Manhattan borough, also slammed State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, accusing him of carrying out a “sham investigation” into the series of allegations. against Cuomo, his longtime ally.

In Midtown, meanwhile, about 40 “queer” people gathered outside the governor’s office on Third Avenue to show their support, carrying homemade signs that read “Cancel Karen Culture Not Cuomo” and “Do Not Resign.”

“He’s an emotional guy, he’s Italian,” said Karen Gregorski, 73, of Manhattan, dismissing the harassment and abuse allegations that were made by Boylan and seven other women.

“Did he kiss someone or did he touch someone’s cheek?” Come on, said Gregorski. “If he touched my cheeks, I would give him a kiss.”
