The model and TV personality, who has more than 13.7 million subscribers, announced she would be leaving the site on Wednesday in a series of tweets.

“Hey. For over 10 years you have been my world. Honestly, I owe so much to this world that we have created here. I really consider a lot of you to be my true friends,” she wrote.

Teigen's account is now deleted.

“But it’s time for me to say goodbye. It doesn’t serve me as positively as it does negatively anymore, and I think it’s a good time to call something.”

Last year, the model used Twitter – among other social platforms – to announce that she and her husband, John Legend, had lost their child to pregnancy complications.
The couple’s openness has been greeted by many women, men and medical professionals – but not all responses to the social media announcement have been kind.
Teigen is known for her witty Twitter feeds, and has had several colorful discussions that are trending on the platform – including with former US President Donald Trump, whom she called a “*** a *” * b **** “after the president called her a” dirty-mouthed woman “following discussions on criminal justice reform.

“My goal in life is to make people happy. The pain I feel when I’m not is too much for me. I’ve always been described as the loud applause girl, but I’m not,” she wrote on Wednesday.

“Live well, tweeters. Please know that all that ever interested me is you,” she added.

CNN has reached out to representatives for Teigen for further comment. His Instagram account remains active.
